A SERIAL offender has been jailed for a "conveyor belt" of offences including breaching a restraining order, stealing a winning scratchcard and trying to commit another burglary.
Brandon Jones was also in breach of two suspended sentences and on bail for another offence when he went on a crime spree on December 27 last year.
The 25-year-old, of Washwood Heath Road, Birmingham and formerly of Tallow Hill, Worcester - and who has links to Droitwich, Evesham, Bromsgrove and Kidderminster - was jailed for 52 weeks when he appeared in front of city magistrates on January 6.
Sarah Hurd, prosecuting, said Jones' "disastrous" day had begun when he went to an address in Droitwich to see a former partner at 1.15am, breaching a restraining order.
Ms Hurd said Jones left the area but not before smashing a car windscreen with a pole.
The prosecutor said Jones was then back offending at 5am, trying door handles before stealing sunglasses and fuel cards from one car, and a winning scratchcard from another.
Police later found Jones crouched in a doorway in Ivy Lane, Fernhill Heath having attempted to break into the home by using a screwdriver on a keybox.
The former partner gave a victim personal statement that was read to the court in which she said: "I expected the restraining order would stop him - I shouldn't have to be dealing with this."
Ms Hurd said Jones had also kicked off the wing mirror of a police car on November 12 in Evesham, for which he needed to be sentenced.
The prosecutor added Jones, whose previous offences included burglary in 2019, breaching two suspended jail sentences through the crimes - one for assault of an emergency worker and another for disclosing sexual photographs with intent to cause distress, which originally led to a restraining order.
Jason Patel, defending, said Jones was "remorseful in respect of his conduct" but was realistic as he knew he was going to jail.

Mr Patel said Jones had been invited to see the former partner as they had rekindled their relationship, but when he was spotted knew he was in breach of the restraining order leading to him becoming frustrated and smashing the windscreen.
The solicitor said, at the time, Jones did not have a fixed address and targeted cars and tried to commit burglary as he was hungry.
Mr Patel added it was not a "serious persistent breach" of the restraining order.
Susan Mitchell, chairman of the magistrates bench, said the victim would have been caused distress by Jones' presence and his "rampage" in the street.
She described the attempted burglary as "half-hearted" but said they had noted Jones had come equipped, carrying the screwdriver.

In addition to his jail sentence, Jones was ordered to pay £250 compensation for the wing mirror offence, £100 for smashing the windscreen, £60 to replace the sunglasses and £2 for the scratchcard.
The £412 total was added to the more than £5,000 Jones already owes the courts from past offending.
