A HIGH school in Worcester has been forced to close due to a severe water leak.

Bishop Perowne CE College, on Merrimans Hill Road, is without water following the severe water leak.

The site has no catering, heating or toilet facilities.

Students were set to return to school on Wednesday after having a TED day on Tuesday.

However, the children will now be taught at home through Microsoft Teams.

A statement from the school said: "Unfortunately we must close to students on Wednesday, January 4.

"We have had to take this decision as we are highly unlikely to have heating, catering, or toilet facilities available.

"Engineers are working to resolve this problem as soon as possible.

"Students should remain at home and complete the work that will be set on Teams (Y7-10) or attend live lessons over Teams (Y11).

"We will update further by 3pm on 4th January."

Students will have five hours of learning for Years 7-10 and live lessons for Year 11 in all subjects.
