Fire services were called out to two fires in the new year
A KITCHEN appliance caught fire in a home in St John's.
Firefighters were to a microwave fire at a property in St Clement Gardens at around 3.30pm on Monday (January 2).
A spokesperson said no one was injured in the incident,
There was also a small blaze in a field near Worcester in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
Fire crews from Worcester arrived at Hurst Lane, Hindlip, and put the fire out at around 3.10am.
No injuries were reported.
A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "One crew from Worcester attended a fire in the open in Hurst Lane, Hindlip. No further emergency services required."
