A FARE dodger has been fined for not paying for a railway ticket.
Steve Smith travelled from Worcester Foregate Street to Malvern Link being asked to produce a ticket.
But Worcester Magistrates Court heard the 51-year-old, of Knapp Way, Malvern, was unable to do so on May 26 this year.
Great Western Railway sent a letter to Smith but had no response.
Smith was fined £220 and ordered to pay compensation of £12.60 - the cost of the ticket.
Smith was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and costs of £180 - a total of £446.60.
The case was heard on December 16.
