There’s never a shortage of things to see and do in Worcestershire - and 2023 promises to be no different.

We’ve rounded up some of the big events to look forward to in and around the county.

Upton Blues Festival

This festival, which takes over the entire town for a long weekend, is the biggest of its kind in the UK.

Camping tickets have already gone on sale for the event, which takes place on July 21 to 23.

The 2023 lineup is yet to be revealed, but the festival enjoyed a successful return in 2022 as live music filled venues all around Upton on a scorching hot weekend.

Lakefest

One of the biggest festivals in the area, Lakefest takes place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, near Ledbury.

In 2023, it’ll be on from August 10-13 and while the headliners haven’t been announced yet, organiser Lee Martin has said exciting plans are in place.

In the summer of 2022, big names playing Lakefest included the Manic Street Preachers, Leftfield, Supergrass, UB40 and Louise Redknapp.

Worcester Music Festival

This free festival is returning to Worcester from Friday, September 15 to Sunday, September 17.

While it seems a long way off at the moment, applications are already open for charities to apply to be the festival’s chosen good cause in 2023.

Charities have until January 13 to submit an application via the website. The festival is also asking performers to apply to take part - you have until May 31, 2023 to do so.

Royal Three Counties Show

Malvern’s Three Counties Showground will once again host the Royal Three Counties Show in 2023.

From June 16-18, visitors can enjoy livestock parades, extreme sports demonstrations, showjumping, carriage driving and more.

The show is so big it has its own food and drink festival, which promises more than 100 exhibitors.

There’ll be fun for all the family, especially as under 16s go free.

Light Night Worcester

For two nights in February, the city centre will be lit up with a programme of “creative and interactive work” and street performers.

It’s organised by the Arches Worcester Festivals team and is a free experience. The 2022 event included spectacular exhibits in the Guildhall, at the cathedral and around the city.

Battle of Evesham 2023

More than 500 people will re-enact the Battle of Evesham on the weekend of August 5 and 6.

This free event will see 30 knights ride into battle on horses and a grand parade take place on Crown Meadow.

There will also be medieval crafts traders, modern artisan stalls and plenty of food and drink.
