A WORCESTER business owner has donated £150 worth of children's toys to charity.

Stu Ritchie, owner of Royal Iron Gym Wear, raised £150 in donations to support Cash for Kids.

Cash for Kids is the charity of Free Radio, Gem, Signal 1 and Greatest Hits Radio, and saw Free Radio's Mission Christmas Project get gifts for 17,854 children this year.

With the money raised, Mr Ritchie visited B&M to purchase the toys ready to donate, which were nearly overflowing in the shopping trolley.

On social media, Mr Ritchie, of Warndon Villages, thanked his customers and his team for their help in raising the money.

He said: "As the owner of Royal Iron Gym Wear, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for your orders which helped raise money and to anyone who just donated.

"Also to my team who also made their own donation."

Mr Ritchie's wife, Shelly Ritchie, said the pair wanted to help support less fortunate children at Christmas.

She said: "There are a lot of children that are not as fortunate as others, which is really sad.

"My husband thinks everyone deserves to be able to open a nice present on Christmas so he was really keen to get involved."

Royal Iron sells gym wear and various accessories for men and women all over the UK.

Mrs Ritchie said the charitable endeavour was one of many that Mr Ritchie and his business like to do.

She said: "All the money raised came from various clients and ambassadors that wanted to contribute.

"The business likes to donate to charitable efforts throughout the year and we thought this was a really lovely idea."

Mission Christmas 2022 is now closed and on the Free Radio website, a spokesperson thanked everyone for getting involved in the event.

They said: "A huge thank you to everyone who donated gifts at a drop-off point or online, donated cash, fundraised and volunteered - not to mention all the amazing businesses and organisations who supported the appeal.

The charity event is in partnership with B&M stores, which will still accept donations until January.

Any gifts donated now will be used to support families in crisis in the new year or securely stored for the next Mission Christmas.
