A FARE dodger from Malvern who travelled on the railways without buying a ticket has been fined.
Zack Hunt, of Orford Way, Malvern, got on the London Paddington service and travelled to Malvern Link, having not paid for a £6.30 ticket.
The 26-year-old case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, (December 16) - the defendant not being present.
Prosecutor Ms Erskin told magistrates, when challenged at Malvern Link Station, after giving his details Hunt "exercised his right to leave" before his interview.
She explained Great Western Railway, (GWR) had written to Hunt but had received no response.
The case was proved in absence before chairman of the magistrates bench, Ian Latimer, said Hunt would be fined £440 and ordered to pay GWR £6.30 compensation.
Hunt was also ordered to pay costs of £180, and victim surcharge of £44 - a total owed to the courts of £670.30.
