THE city has woken up to its first snowfall of this winter - even if it is just a dusting - as drivers are warned of ice on their morning commute.
West Mercia Police has issued warnings and advice to drivers about potentially hazardous conditions this morning.

There is a Met yellow warning for ice although Worcester is outside the area which extends further north and west.
Due to the cold weather overnight there are lots of icy patches so please drive with care. A slight dusting of snow has also settled in many areas.

A spokesperson for North Worcestershire Police said: "Due to the cold weather overnight there are lots of icy patches so please drive with care. A slight dusting of snow has also settled in many areas. Please allow more time for your journey and leave extra space between you and the vehicle in front of you."
Drivers have also been warned not to leave their vehicles unattended while the engine is running to defrost the windscreen.
