A 30-year-old man has denied an attack on hospital patient, said to have left the alleged victim needing stitches.
Shamas Iqbal of Williamson Road, Worcester denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm when he appeared before magistrates on Thursday.
The alleged attack upon patient Mohammed Asghar is said to have taken place on May 13 at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester outside the Elgar Unit, in the car park. Eleanor Peart, prosecuting, said the alleged victim was punched to the temple and needed two stitches, also suffering swelling to the back of his head.
The trial will be heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on February 6 next year.
In the meantime, Iqbal was granted unconditional bail.
