POLICE were called to a city supermarket to deal with an incident.

Latest: No arrests after police called to supermarket

Pictures show one police car and a van parked outside Waitrose on London Road, Worcester at around 1.45pm. 

It is believed police were called after security guards allegedly caught a shoplifter trying to steal bottles of alcohol.

The Worcester News has contacted West Merica Police and will update the stories with the response.

An eyewitness said: "There was a man surrounded by three members of staff including security guards near the cafe.

"He was shouting loudly and they were holding a large bag for life which he was carrying around the store.

"People were stopping to stare because he was shouting so loudly."
