THIS IS when the River Severn's levels are expected to recede as waters broke the banks this morning (Friday)

The River Severn has already burst its banks at South Parade in Worcester and pictures show the footpath covered in water and swans. 

It is expected that the river will peak at Diglis reaching 3m to 3.5m overnight on Sunday into Monday.

River levels are expected to remain high over the next few days.

The predicted peaks are at Kempsey Yacht Club 4.9m to 5.4m on Tuesday morning.

Across Worcestershire, the Environment Agency is expecting river levels to remain high over the next few days.

Drivers are being urged to avoid routes with low-lying roads near rivers as well as take care driving over flooded fords. 

Locations that may be affected include Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke, Upton upon Severn, South Quay, Diglis Parade and the Hylton Road towpath.

According to The Met Office, Worcester is expected to stay relatively dry over the next few days with some heavy rain spells.

Saturday is expected to have a cool bright start with any mist and fog clearing quickly through the morning, according to Met Office.

Wind strengthening and cloud increasing ahead of heavy rain moving in from the west later.

They predict the maximum temperature will be 11C.

Rain will clear early on Sunday morning, becoming drier and brighter through the day.

Sunny spells and light showers are expected on Monday, according to the Met Office.

It is set to be mostly fine and dry with decent sunny spells on Tuesday.
