Supermarkets cafes and insurance companies collecting donations

Worcester Foodbank is appealing for supermarket gift cards this year as their top priority to help deal with what manager Grahame Lucas recently called, the "oncoming storm".

The appeal came as part of a recently published Christmas Shopping List for 2022, and there are several locations across the city where you can donate at.

A-PLAN INSURANCE

The Foregate Street based insurane centre is open from 8.30am to 5pm on Monday to Friday.

On Saturday, the opening times are from 8.30am to 12pm.

This is an easily accessible drop-off point located close to the city centre.

ASDA SUPERCENTRE

In store-shoppers can donate at this city centre supermarket, on Silver Street, from 6am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, opening hours are from 11am to 5pm.

Any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into this supermarket should be sealed by the donor and clearly labelled as being purchased elsewhere.

HAZELTON MOUNTFORD

At Hazleton Mountford insurance brokers on Bank Street, Worcester, you can leave your donations from Monday to Friday (9am to 5pm).

MAYFLY CAFE

At The Mayfly Cafe, at the Cob House Country Park, on Worcester Road, Wichenford, you can leave your donations from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm.

Over the weekend you can leave donations between 7.30am and 5pm.

SAINSBURY’S LOCAL

On Barbourne Road, you can donate daily between 7am to 11pm.

SAINSBURY’S SUPERSTORE

At the Sainsbury's Superstore on Swanpool Walk, you can donate between 7am to 11pm Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, donation times are between 11am to 5pm.

SAINSBURY’S SUPERSTORE

At the Sainsbury's Superstore on Windermere Drive, you can donate between 8am to 10pm on Monday to Saturday.

On Sunday, you can donate between 11am to 4pm.

TESCO

At the TESCO on Mill Wood Drive, you can donate 24 hours a day at the front of the store near the exits.

Donations are for in-store shoppers online, and any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into this supermarket should be sealed by the donor and clearly labelled as being purchased elsewhere.

TESCO

At the TESCO on St Peters Drive, you can donate between 6am to midnight from Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Donations are accepted at the front of the store near the exits, and is only for in-store shoppers.

Any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into this supermarket should be sealed by the donor and clearly labelled as being purchased elsewhere.

TESCO EXPRESS

At the Martley Road Tesco Express, on Henwick Park, in-store shoppers can donate daily from 6am to midnight

Any food that has been purchased in a different store and brought into this supermarket should be sealed by the donor and clearly labelled as being purchased elsewhere.

WAITROSE

At the London Road Waitrose supermarket, you can donate between 7.30am and 9pm on Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.

Collection points can also be found at local churches, employers, schools and colleges, as many of them support Worcester Foodbank during the year.

Worcester Foodbank always welcomes donations and have said it promises to use them to provide help to people in crisis.
