A FLOOD alert has been placed on a river in Worcestershire after recent heavy rain.
The River Salwarpe could potentially flood according to The Met Office after last night's downpours.
The Met Office said river levels are high but steady at the Harford Hill river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall.
"Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.
"We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Catshill to Hawford.
"Other areas that may be affected include Stoke Heath, Elmley Lovett, Droitwich Spa and Ombersley.
"We expect river levels to begin falling later today 22/11/2022.
"We are closely monitoring the situation."
They have asked people to avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and avoid contact with flood water.
