Move over John Lewis, there’s a new king of the Christmas adverts.
A school in Pershore has decided to make its own festive flick to showcase the pupils' creativity.
The film shows how the year two class at Holy Redeemer School respond when seeing their headteacher’s bare office with Christmas fast approaching.
Christina Hall, headteacher, said: “We are very proud of what the children and staff have achieved.
“The film embodies the true meaning of Christmas, love.
“It promotes our school values and showcases the pupils’ creativity.”
Mrs Hall added: “The film also shows that you don’t have to spend a lot to make Christmas special.
“It’s amazing what you can do with imagination, scrap paper and a glue stick!
“We try to fit sustainability and recycling into everything we do at Holy Redeemer, and that’s one of the key messages in this film.”
Children and staff spent a day working with local filmmakers Julia Letts, from Letts Talk, and James Atkinson of JDA Media.
Some of the filming took place in Holy Redeemer’s Eco Garden and Forest School.
“The pupils all really loved being involved and rose to the occasion,” added Mrs Hall.
“Julia and James were very impressed with their ideas and behaviour.”
Ms Letts added: “So proud of working with these amazing year twos and JDA Media.
“Please share and let’s go viral!”
The film has been viewed more than 13,000 times on Facebook, and it’s fair to say it has gone down well.
One parent, Mariza Lazarus, commented: “Thank you Holy Redeemer Catholic Primary School for the wonderful opportunities provided to our kids!
“This video is simply amazing. Massive well done to all the kids.”
Another commenter, Teresa Davis, said: “What a beautiful video, so natural and lovely to see genuine happy children taking part and being part of it.
“Well done to you all, the parents must be blown away.”
And Dina Gedmintas commented: “This is the MOST wonderful thing I have ever seen!
“What a beautiful Christmas advert for the loveliest of schools.”
