A MAN caught speeding twice in a Mercedes has been fined and given penalty points by magistrates.
Mohammed Haque, of Bilford Avenue, Worcester, appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Friday, (November 18).
Haque's case had been dealt with in May this year, magistrates having already sentenced him.
But at the start of the latest hearing Haque made a stationary declaration he had been unaware of the case and was cleared by magistrates.
The court clerk then put the two charges of speeding on a restricted road to the defendant, Haque pleading guilty to both.
Magistrates heard Haque drove the Mercedes on the A44 New Road on June 20, 2020, triggering a speed camera.
And Haque had also triggered a camera on the B4550 in Rainbow Hill on August 23, 2020.
In both offences the speed recorded had been 35mph, the speed limit for the roads being 30mph.
Jason Patel, defending, said Haque had committed the offences at a "difficult time" for him, as family members were ill.
Mr Patel added Haque had no other speeding offences on his record.
Simon Freebairn, chairman of the magistrates bench, told Haque they were going to give him three penalty points meaning he had accumulated six points in total.
Haque was also fined £100 on both offences and told to pay victim surcharge.
