A WORCESTER man has been given a driving ban after being caught drink driving.
Joseph Dixon, of Oldcourne Way, Fernhill Heath, admitted a charge of driving a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit when he appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, (November 17).
Magistrates heard the 20-year-old drove a Vauxhall Corsa on Westwood Road, Droitwich, on October 25 this year.
After being stopped by police, Dixon was arrested and taken to the police station.
In a breathalyser test, the evidential specimen of breath given by Dixon was 52mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, which is above the legal limit of 35mcg.
Magistrates banned Dixon for a year, but he was offered the chance to take the drink-drive awareness course which - if he successfully completes - would reduce the length of the ban.
Dixon was fined £276 and told to pay costs of £135 and £110 victim surcharge.
Dixon has to pay the total, £521, at a rate of £50 per month.
