A persistent offender has been handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) in a bid to curb his offending.
Connor Loach has been handed various court orders in the past but after those failed to deter him, the order is the latest attempt to finally put a stop to his crimes.
Loach, of no fixed abode but previously of Vawdrey Close, Stourport and Park Street, Worcester, appeared on videolink to Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, (November 17) to admit his latest offence of stealing a bike.
Sumreen Afsar, prosecuting, said the victim was sat outside B&M in Worcester on October 10 this year.
The prosecutor said: "The defendant jumps on the bike and says 'thanks for the bike'.
"He rides off, and continues to ride away."
Mrs Afsar said after police were called they managed to track down Loach riding around on the bike leading to his arrest.
The prosecutor said the bike, valued at £1,300, was returned to the victim.
Magistrates heard Loach's previous convictions included a theft in July, and he had recently been in court for assaults.
The prosecutor added, due to the previous convictions, the crown was applying for the 26-year-old to be handed the CBO.
Mark Sheward, defending, said: "He accepts responsibility, he had been drinking that day.
"He didn't intend to keep it (the bike)."
Mr Sheward added there was no opposition from Loach to the community order provided it did not include a condition preventing him entering Worcester.
"He is going to go to live with family members (in Worcester)," Mr Sheward said.
"He would be homeless."
Trevor Burgees, chairman of the magistates bench, told Loach he was been given the order which includes conditions such as preventing him from fighting in the street.
Mr Burgees warned: "If you breach it you can expect magistrates to consider sending you to prison."

Loach was fined £120, and ordered to pay costs of £185 and a victim surcharge of £48.
The total, £353, was added to the outstanding amount Loach owes the courts from past offending.
Previously, Loach admitted to throwing a pub table at a bike rack.
Magistrates heard in that case Loach had grabbed a table from the outdoor area of the Slug and Lettuce in Worcester, throwing it over his head.
Loach later told police his temper had got the better of him after drinking double vodkas and cocktails.
