WORCESTER Catherdral is set to appear on a popular BBC television show this weekend.

The crew from Songs of Praise, which is aired on BBC One every Sunday at 12.15pm, paid a visit to Worcester Cathedral to film its pet blessing service.

Staff from the Cathedral said they jumped at the chance to be featured on the show which has been running since 1961.

However, this isn't the first time Worcester Cathedral has ended up in the limelight.

A TikTok of a singing goat went viral last month and was featured on national and international media after Worcester News reported it.

Pablo from Attwell Farm could not contain his excitement during the animal blessing service at Worcester Cathedral.

In the hilarious video, taken during filming for Songs of Praise, Pablo makes a high pitch bleating noise.

He caught people's attention with one commenter jokingly suggesting he joins the choir.

Another made a joke about what Pablo could have been thinking during his performance and said: "Pablo: the acoustics are nice in here."

"The episode is presented by the Reverend Kate Bottley and will feature the service in a programme that will celebrate the way pets enrich and enhance people’s lives.

"A variety of animals attended the service including cats, dogs, bearded dragons, giant stick insects, cockroaches, alpacas, sheep, a tarantula, and the now internet sensation Pablo the Goat.

"It was a wonderful service and we were delighted to welcome Songs of Praise to film it. We were contacted by Songs of Praise earlier this year requesting to feature our popular animal blessing service in this special episode and we jumped at the chance.

"We are very much looking forward to seeing the programme air and hopefully catching a glimpse of Pablo and all of the other wonderful animals that attended."
