A NEW bubble tea café is set to open on Worcester's High Street before Christmas.
Cupp Bubble Tea has agreed on a 10-year lease on a retail unit at 58 High Street, which was formerly home to Greggs.
The company has taken the whole building, including a ground-floor retail unit and three upper floors, with plans to complete an extensive fit-out.
The new café in Worcester town centre will be selling the Taiwanese drink, which first appeared in the 1980s and is made by blending tea with milk, fruit and fruit juices, then adding tapioca pearls and shaking vigorously.

George Xydias, of Centrick Commercial, said the business is set to open before Christmas.
He said: "Cupp is bringing its exciting bubble tea concept to Worcester where I’m sure it will be a huge success with shoppers looking for something a little different from the typical coffee shops and other cafes.
"It also creates new jobs and brings investment into the city.
“The premises is extremely well located in Worcester city centre and comprises a four-storey retail unit situated on the pedestrianised High Street, adjacent to the new Greggs store.
Cupp is investing in an extensive fit-out of the property and we look forward to seeing it open before Christmas.”
Centrick is a property management company based in Birmingham, with over 20,000 properties across the UK on its books.

"The refurbishment was carried out to preserve the beautiful historic features of the building and the swift letting is a testament to both the agents’ hard work and the appeal of the building.”
Cupp is not the only bubble tea café in the city, with Ping An Oriental and Mooboo both also specialising in the beverage.
Ping An Oriental, on Pump Street, has been a long-standing business in the city, and Mooboo opened it's doors to Worcester earlier this year, also on the High Street.
