A FLOCK of turkeys tried to make a great escape before Christmas after they were spotted waddling along a road in a town.

The six birds were pictured on Gilvers Lane, near Welland Road in Upton-upon-Severn.

The stunned walker found the turkeys walking together down the road, but was not sure where they might have come from.

Whether it had been trying to escape from the Christmas dinner table or not, we can only guess.

Back in 2012, a turkey called Tommy made national headlines when it was pictured walking around a residential road in Warndon, Worcester.

RSPCA staff managed to catch the bird and it spent the festive season at a local bird sanctuary.
