The following cases were heard at Worcester Magistrates Court. 

 

Prolific thief Thomas Allen, who stole items from Wilko and Superdrug, has been handed a community order. 

Magistrates heard the 38-year-old stole washing products and cutlery sets from Wilko, and a fragrance bottle from Superdrug. 

Mark Turnbull, defending, said Allen was trying to turn his life around, going to church a couple of times a week.

Allen, of St Paul's Hostel in Worcester, was given a community order requiring him to complete 25 rehabilitation activity days. 

Allen was also ordered to pay total compensation of £185 to the shops.

Andrew Pinches who had been drinking "a lot" got into a taxi and racially abused the driver after not paying the fare.

The 44-year-old got into a taxi in Yew Tree Lane, Fernhill Heath, near Worcester, before making the racist slur.

Pinches was fined by the magistrates and ordered to pay victim surcharge and court costs.

A man admitted trying to engage in sex chats with a girl he believed was 13-years-old.

Robert Norman, 41, of Mulberry Drive, Malvern, admitted an attempt to engage in sexual communication with a child, when he appeared at the court.

Norman was told to return to the court for sentencing on December 2.

Norman was given conditional bail and told he must not make any unsupervised contact with any minor. 

Norman was told to sign the sex offenders' register.

A man who has committed more than 170 shop thefts appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court to admit his latest offence of stealing. 

Robin Lunn, 59, who is currently living in Bromsgrove Street, Kidderminster, stole two t-shirts from Monkee Business in Crowngate Shopping Centre.

Sentencing him Michelle Edwards, chairman of the magistrates bench, said: "It would have been custody today", but said they recognised his recent intervention work was going well.

Lunn was given a six-month conditional discharge, and told to pay costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £26.
