A CITY Tesco store manager has made his acting debut in a national Christmas advert.
Steve Winfield, store manager of the Tesco in St Peter's, features in the supermarket's official 2022 Christmas advert, which debuted last night during I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on ITV 1.
Mr Winfield had to keep the exciting news quiet until the weekend and has now been the centre of attention with people jokingly stopping him for an autograph.

He said: "I had to keep it quiet until this weekend had passed so not many people knew that I was going to be in the advert.
"I have had a lot of people jokingly ask me for autographs today which has been funny.
"I also shared my audition video online after I got over 200 likes on my Facebook post which got a lot of positive engagement."

Mr Winfield was encouraged to apply by friends and colleagues earlier this year after the opportunity was made available to all staff employed by Tesco.
"Staff were given the opportunity to apply and get the chance to feature in this year's advert and I was egged on by a few store manager friends and colleagues to give it a go.
"I was out on a run one day and could not get Christmas songs out of my head so I stopped and recorded the video to submit.
"I was told I was successful after submitting the video and was invited down to London to film the advert."
Steve can be seen as part of a group of carollers singing in the advert and may be featured in more adverts on the approach to Christmas.
He said: "I featured in a bit of the advert that debuted yesterday evening, but there is also more that was filmed on the day so there could be more adverts to come over the festive period.
"I think it's great that Tesco opened this up to staff, it really makes you feel part of the brand and the team.
"I really enjoyed the media side of things and seeing everything come together was really cool to be a part of."
