Police descended on a Worcester park after a man was robbed at knifepoint.
Officers were seen surrounding the city’s Cripplegate Park on Saturday evening (November 5) following the incident - and are still searching for the attacker.
West Mercia Police confirmed that a 26-year-old man had been threatened with a knife and that cash was taken at about 10.40pm.
A spokesperson said that officers were searching for a man around 5’10” tall, wearing a white hoodie and dark trousers.
An eyewitness said they saw the park surrounded by police just after midnight and were told to get home and away from the area.
Another said they saw both marked and unmarked police cars on blue lights heading towards the park over Worcester Bridge.
Chief inspector Brian Gibbs said: “Our officers attended the scene within minutes and performed a comprehensive search of the area.
"Nothing was found in the search and to date no arrests have been made.

“Our investigations are ongoing and we are determined to identify who was involved and remove them and their weapon from the streets. We simply will not stand by and allow people to carry knives and threaten the safety of themselves and others.
“We rely on members of the public coming forward with information about such incidents to keep our streets safer. If you were in Cripplegate Park or the surrounding area on Saturday night and saw anything suspicious then please come forward.”
Anyone with information that could help police is asked to report it online under the Tell Us About section of the West Mercia Police website quoting reference 655 on 5 November.
