COMMUTERS travelling to and from Birmingham are facing disruption after one of the main stations in the region was evacuated.
Birmingham New Street has been evacuated after a "suspicious item" was found.
West Midlands Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and British Transport Police are all in attendance dealing with the situation.
We are aware of reports of a suspicious item at New Street Station in Birmingham.

The station has been evacuated as a precaution while the item is assessed.
A spokesperson for the station said: "Birmingham New Street station is currently closed while British Transport Police inspect a suspicious item found on a platform.
"Disruption is expected for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening."
