A DONATION from a leading eye-health clinic has given a boost to a city community transport charity.
Worcester Wheels provides vital community transport services for people who find it difficult to access other forms of transport.
Staff at the charity were presented with a £1,000 cheque by Josh Raden, from Newmedica Worcester - the eye-health clinic and surgical centre which operates from the Berkeley Business Park and provides services for NHS and private patients.
Mr Raden said: "There are many people who really do rely on the services that Worcester Wheels provides. I know that a number of our patients use the service, and not having access to its support would really impact their quality of life.

“So I’m really pleased that we were able to make a donation that keeps the charity’s essential wheels turning."
Dormston Cook, business manager at the charity, said: “The donation from Newmedica Worcester really is important to us. We’re so grateful.
"The money will go a long way in enabling us to continue our door-to-door service.
“Donations such as this are the lifeblood of our charity, helping to keep our vehicles on the road and assisting so many people in our community.
“As well as the practical means of getting people to appointments, we also alleviate isolation for many.
“People think that isolation happens to those living in the country, but that isn’t the case. People rely on us for human interaction because they might not see anyone else for the week.
