A POPULAR Greek dessert shop in Worcester has found a permanent home in the city.
The Sweet Greeks has been selling its homemade Mediterranean desserts from a gazebo in The Shambles.
But now work has started on a new coffee house and bistro in the old Clockwaters cafe in Mealcheapen Street.
The Sweet Greeks owners said: “We have some very exciting news.
“We have found a permanent indoor home that we are doing our best to get ready as soon as possible. Good thing is that it is only a few steps away from our gazebo.
“We are hoping to get the place ready for our lovely customers (new menu items also pending) as soon as possible, but in the meantime keep an eye on our social media for updates. We are very excited and cannot wait to welcome you to our new home.”
Clockwatchers Coffee Shop closed
We reported last month that Clockwatchers Coffee Shop had closed its doors for good - and on a mysterious message on the door that suggested a new venture would soon be coming to take its place.
The Sweet Greeks, which offers a delivery service as well as selling from its gazebo in the city centre, was set up during lockdown by friends Arion Zouliatis and Spiros Derezeletof.
The two men, who moved to Worcester from Greece, base their menu on old family recipes and make all of their desserts fresh each day.

Last year, they announced a partnership with city restaurant Valentino’s that saw The Sweet Greeks supplying a range of delicious desserts to the Foregate eatery.
Arion said: "We are so grateful and excited about this partnership, Valentino's have supported us through our entire journey of setting up our business in Worcester. They have really helped us and looked after us, we can't thank them enough.
"We can't wait to bring some traditional Greek flavours to the people of Worcester, although unfortunately, we cannot bring the Greek weather.”
It is set to be one of a few recent cafe openings in the city with Sugar Daddies opening in Trinity Passage and Mooboo bubble tea cafe has come to the High Street.
Opening soon is The Dice Box which will be coming to The Shambles in Worcester in the near future.
