Mid Worcestershire MP Nigel Huddleston is keeping tight-lipped about who he is backing to be the next Prime Minister.
Liz Truss announced she would be stepping down as leader of the Conservative Party yesterday.
Today, Mr Huddleston has thanked Ms Truss for her service to the party over the years.
However, due to his role, he is not yet sharing who he will support in the leadership race.
He said: "I thank Liz Truss for her dedicated service as Prime Minister and in several other senior government roles over many years.
"Regarding the current leadership election, we are fortunate to have many high-calibre potential candidates.
"As a government whip, I must remain impartial in the leadership debate and cannot declare support for any candidate, but I am, of course, listening to the views of party members and constituents."
Who are Worcestershire's MPs backing?
Several Conservative MPs have already been linked to the top job, including former leader Boris Johnson.
However, Labour, the SNP, the Greens and Liberal Democrats have all called for a general election.
The latest modelling from Electoral Calculus suggests such a vote would result in a huge victory for Labour in Worcester.
