A MAN has appeared in court denying 17 counts of fraud and theft offences.
Jody Oliver appeared at Worcester Crown Court speaking to confirm his name and enter his not guilty pleas.
Oliver, of Barbourne Road, Worcester, denies:
- Theft, allegedly stealing £9,000 belonging to Sylvia Tainton.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £600 in cash to purchase shares on behalf of Sylvia Tainton intending to make a gain.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £400 in cash to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £5,000 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £3,500, paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £6,000 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £5,000 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use 5,000 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use 5,000 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to use £5,490 paid by cheque to buy Ms Tainton shares.
- Fraud by making a false representation to Paul Rigby, that he was permitted to use the Barclay's debit card of Sylvia Tainton to make payments totalling £7,500.

- Fraud by making a false representation to Francesca Holder that he would use £500 paid to him by her to buy her a Ford Mondeo.
- Fraud by making a false representation to Francesca Holder that he would use £1,120 paid to him by her to buy her a Ford Mondeo.
- Fraud by making a false representation to Francesca Holder that he would use £1,000 paid to him by her to buy her a Ford Mondeo.
- Fraud by making a false representation to Francesca Holder that he would use £5,000 paid to him by her to buy her a Ford Mondeo.
- Fraud by making a false representation to Francesca Holder that he would use £1,500 paid to him by her to buy her a Mini.
The offences are all alleged to have taken place between January 1 and November 30, 2019, including some said by the prosecution to have taken place in Lower Broadheath near Worcester.
The prosecution says the 44-year-old made the false representation to Ms Tainton he would buy shares in Volvo.
Judge James Burbidge KC told Oliver he would face a trial on June 5, 2023.
The judge added: "You must turn up, if you don't you will be tried in your absence."
