A CRASH caused severe delays on the M5 motorway near Worcester.
The crash, which happened on the northbound side of the road near Junction 7, caused miles of tailbacks and delays for drivers entering the city.
The crash, at around 12.15 on Monday (September 26) caused one lane of three to be closed, resulting in six and a half miles of tailbacks and delays of around 30 minutes approaching the scene.
Highways West Midlands announced the lane closure saying: "Lane 1 is closed on the M5 northbound between J7 and J6 near Worcester due to a collision. Traffic Officers are on scene and dealing."
There is approx. 6.5 miles of congestion on approach causing delays of 30 mins above normal travel time."
There were delays and tailbacks as far south as Strensham Services, with the lanes finally re-opened at around 12.44pm that day.
