Pershore Town's Jordan Adams will be ditching his football boots and putting on his running trainers this week as he embarks on a gruelling seven-day marathon challenge.
Starting on Monday in his hometown of Redditch, Mr Adams will run a marathon every day, finishing on Sunday doing the London Marathon, raising money and awareness for Alzheimer's Research UK.
It is something very close to Mr Adams' heart but also a condition he will most certainly develop himself in the years ahead.
Four years ago, following the death of his Mother, Mr Adams had his genetic diagnosis which confirmed he will inherit symptoms of Frontotemporal Dementia in his early 40's, only thirteen years from now.
Since his diagnosis, Mr Adams has constantly looked to challenge himself whilst raising funds and awareness for a Dementia and Alzheimer's in the hope that vital research can lead to a cure within his lifetime.
"Since my diagnosis in 2018, I've dedicated a large part of my personal life to raising awareness and de-stigmatising Dementia." said Mr Adams.
"I became a community speaker for Alzheimer's Research UK, travelling the country giving talks to big corporations and groups in different communities.
"I've told them my story and let people know that Dementia is not a natural part of ageing and the only way we can find a cure for this disease which will effect one in three people in there lifetime is through vital research.
"Alongside the community speaking I have also challenged myself by running various marathons. However, this time I've decided to take it to another level to raise further awareness and money for a cause that is so close to my heart."
