A WOMAN was rescued from a river by fire crews after she was unable to get back to the embankment by herself.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was rescued from the river at Ham Lane, Powick, near Worcester yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 12.58 pm on September 22, a Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue team from Worcester Fire Station with a Water First Responder team from Pershore Fire Station and Water Rescue Vehicles from Worcester and Hereford Fire Stations, plus the Service drone from Ledbury Fire Station, were called to a rescue from the river at Ham Lane, Powick.
"A female casualty in her 30s, unable to get back up the embankment by the River Teme, was located and, after efforts to rescue her by the Swift Water Rescue team from the bank, she was rescued by fire service personnel using a sled. No other emergency services were required and the incident was marked as pending closure at 1.39pm."
