A GROUP of youngsters have been introduced to shooting in a bid to steer them away from anti-social behaviour.
It is hoped by taking part in the project the youngsters will stop using BB pellet guns and learn to respect firearms.
Participants were introduced to "Airsoft Skirmishing" - a team game using guns with soft pellets in a controlled environment - and the sport of shooting, by Worcester Norton Shooting Club, in Brockhill Lane, Norton, near Worcester.
Jude Langton, community safety partnership co-ordinator, said: "The course has opened the eyes of the young people who took part to other, more positive gun-related activities.
"They have really enjoyed themselves, and we are hopeful they will change their behaviour in the future."
The project was funded by the Warndon and Gorse Hill Quality of Life Group, and delivered by the Safer Worcester Community Safety Partnership.
Certificates will be awarded to all those who took part on Sunday, May 4, at the shooting club's open day between 10am and 2pm.
