A MOVE to restructure the office administration at Malvern Town Council, which will save £30,000 a year on staff salaries, has been overwhelmingly supported by councillors.
Members of the full council voted unanimously to accept the change which will reduced the council's office staff numbers by one full-time member to five full-time and one part-time worker.
The administration side of the council has been operating with a reduced staff since December 2006 because the office manager has been on long-term sick leave since then.
The office manager will not be returning to work and town clerk Richard Chapman said most of her work would be done by the finance officer with assistance from the finance clerk and the events officer.
The new structure will reduce staff salaries from £192,000 to £162,000 a year.
