WHAT is thought to be one of the rarest cars on the country's roads has been stolen in Malvern.
The Indian Air Force-blue Hindustan Ambassador, worth £10,500, was taken from Albert Road North between 8.30am and 2.30pm yesterday.
The owner believes the car, registration number TIL 8804, is one of only six imported from India, where they are widely used as taxis.
He bought the 1800cc, Isuzu-engined car partly because his father drove an original Morris Oxford and partly because he wanted a car which was different.
"This car certainly stands out in a crowd and we hope this will help lead to its early recovery, said a police spokesman.
Anyone who has any information about the theft - or believes they have seen the car - is asked to contact police on 08457 444 888, quoting 432S/280408. Information can also be given - anonymously - to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
