AS the new series of Britain's Got Talent got under way, a Worcester primary school held its own talent search.
Lyppard Grange Primary School launched Lyppard's Got Talent and from more than 65 acts selected 24 finalists who performed to family, friends and teachers during two nights of entertainment last week.
A panel of judges was on hand to give advice and congratulations, including special guest BBC Midlands Today newsreader Michael Collie. Judges and the audience were treated to acts including dancing, singing, comedy, magic and gymnastics.
A spokesman said: "Parents and teachers sang and danced along with the acts, which the children had devised and rehearsed on their own. The voting system was based on the Pop Idol model, with parents having two votes each and the judging panel carrying the casting vote.
"Michael Collie presented certificates to all the finalists with special rosettes going to those who had been placed. Both evenings were thoroughly enjoyed."
