A DRUG user was found to have four bottles of methadone in his backpack when he was admitted to hospital.
Daryl Tustin appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court on Monday and admitted possessing methadone.
The class A drug was discovered at Worcestershire Royal Hospital's accident and emergency department on Wednesday, August 22, last year.
Tustin, =22, of no fixed abode, told police he was looking after the four bottles for his friend who was in the hospital with his pregnant partner.
Andy Childs, defending, said: "He has been a drug taker for a number of years and it has blighted his early years.
"It has cost him very dearly."
Tustin was fined £50 for the offence and ordered to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
Magistrate chairman Chris Ball, said: "Take the opportunity to get yourself sorted and start living a life because you are the one who is missing out and it is at the expense of everyone else living in the community."
