TWO food businesses in Tenbury Wells have been recognised for top hygiene and health and safety standards on their premises.
Fruit preparation company Elgar Foods on the Tenbury Business park, Bromyard Road, and restaurant Whites at the Clockhouse, Market Street, have been awarded five stars in the Malvern Hills District Council scores on the doors initiative.
The scheme was officially launched in the district this year but due to the devastating floods which hit the town last year, inspections at Tenbury Premises were delayed to allow businesses to recover.
Stephanie Ingram, from the district council's commercial services, said: "We're really excited about scores on the doors reaching Tenbury as it will give residents and visitors to the area a more informed choice of where to eat."
Malvern Hills district councillor Phil Grove, who represents Tenbury Wells, said: "To have two of our local food companies receive five stars as part of this new initiative not only demonstrates that Tenbury is well on the road to recovery from the flooding last year, but it also highlights that this town has some excellent businesses."
