THE family of an elderly woman who died after she was run over by a car on the driveway of her Worcestershire home have paid tribute to her.
Mother-of-two Margaret Butterton, 77, has been described as a well-liked, popular and friendly woman.
Son David said: "My mother was a very warm character and had many different roles, mother, wife, friend, relative and often a stand-in mum.
"She could adapt to any given situation and would find goodness in anything.
"She always took time for people and would take responsibility rather than back away in difficult situations.
"That was something she learned from her role as a nurse."
Mrs Butterton worked as a nurse at the former General Hospital in Bromsgrove prior to retirement.
She died after she was hit by a silver Mercedes driven by a 78-year-old man - believed to be her husband of 50 years, Ron - on the driveway of a house in Hazleton Close, Marlbrook, Bromsgrove.
The incident happened at 9.40am on Friday, April 18.
She was taken by ambulance to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, but died a short time later.
She also leaves another son, Michael, and two grandsons.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the incident and anyone with information should contact PC Andy Saunders on 08457 444 888 ext 3143.
