A CUSTOMER of a Worcester pub dyed his hair pink in preparation for a sponsored walk and fun day to raise funds for a young boy with cerebral palsy.
Dennis Smith and 15 others are planning to walk a circuit from the West Midlands Tavern in Lowesmoor Place to Ombersley, Holt Heath, Hallow, and back to the pub, where there will be activities including an auction with signed Worcester Warriors and a darts player's shirts.
The walk and family fun day will take place on bank holiday Monday, May 5.
Mr Smith, and the other fund-raisers are aiming to raise at least £895 to pay for a specialist chair and equipment for one-year-old Ethan Kenny.
Mr Smith, 56, said: "I decided I wanted to do something to raise some money.
"I thought a sponsored walk was a good idea and to publicise it I decided to dye my hair pink."
Mr Smith underwent the transformation at Scissorhands hair salon, Lowesmoor.
He said: "Any surplus money we raise will go to Birmingham Children's Hospital."
Ethan is the grandson of West Midlands Tavern landlady Mary Jeynes.
She said: "I think it's fantastic that Dennis and the other customers are doing this for us.
"We are going to have a tombola, raffle and auction during the day and I hope people will come along and help us to raise as much as possible."
