A 42-YEAR-OLD woman who admitted a supermarket theft, driving without insurance and breaching a conditional discharge has been fined.
Tracy Balbini of Roberts End, Hanley Swan, stole goods, including washing powder and meat at Waitrose, in Malvern, on March 22.
She also drove a Ford Escort along the B4211 near Upton on Severn without insurance, on December 20 last year, magistrates in Worcester heard.
Sallie Hewitt, prosecuting, said the car was stopped by officers after it was shown to be uninsured by the police national computer database.
Mark Turnbull, defending, explained Balbini had mistakenly believed she was covered to drive the car because she had fully comprehensive insurance policies on both her husband's and daughter's vehicles.
He added the offence had not been "deliberately" committed.
District Judge Bruce Morgan fined Balbini £100 for stealing and handed her a nine month driving disqualification for using her car for the purposes of theft.
She was disqualified for a further nine months and given an additional £100 fine for driving without insurance and ordered to pay a total of £125 for breaching a conditional discharge.
