PERSHORE Tennis Centre is throwing its courts open on Saturday afternoon (2-4 pm) to anyone interested in taking up or returning to the sport - whatever their age or ability.
On offer will be taster sessions with the four coaches ably assisted by a ball machine.
Rackets and balls will be provided, but participants must bring tennis shoes or non-marking trainers. In the event of bad weather the Open Day will be confined to the indoor courts.
In 2007-8 the club had a record 339 members, including 157 juniors, enjoying excellent facilities on the extensive Pershore College site which includes five outdoor and three indoor courts.
The Open Day will be the first for the club's recently-appointed head coach, Steve Bauer. Assisting him will be the club's new performance coach, Eslam Shaaban. Shaaban was a top junior in Egypt before taking up coaching responsibilities at the Heliopolis Club in Cairo and with the national U-14 team.
