POLICE have released this picture of a man they believe could be a vital witness to a crime.
The man was captured on CCTV walking towards the city centre near the Kings Head pub in Sidbury and officers hope he may be able to help them in their search for a dawn intruder.
They believe the man, who was caught on camera at 6.12am, may have seen the intruder who left the back of a premises in Hamilton Road at about 5.50am on Tuesday, March 25.
The intruder was white, aged about 20, less than 6' and wearing lightweight clothing.
He is thought to have walked from a rear alley into Wylds Lane, through Fort Royal Park onto London Road, near the junctions with Greenhill and St Dunstan's Crescent after a police tracker dog followed his scent.
A police spokesman said: "We believe the man pictured will have been one of a number of early-risers, both on foot - perhaps walking their dogs or using vehicles, around at the time - who may recall seeing the intruder we are seeking at some point on their journeys."
Anyone who believes they saw the man - or who has any information - should call police on 08457 444 888, quoting 46S/250308, or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
