VISITORS to a village flower festival will be treated to a special composting clinic.
Over the bank holiday weekend, the village of Eckington, near Pershore, will be holding its 14th annual Open Gardens and Flower Festival where numerous gardens of all sizes will be open, along with lots of other attractions.
At Blue Gecko Plants, in Tewkesbury Road, master composter Mike Thorpe will be showing his wormery and giving advice to green-fingered visitors.
Mr Thorpe said: "I think that wormeries are an excellent way to recycle kitchen waste, especially if you have a small garden."
Children in the village have also been kept busy making scarecrows which will be dotted around the village, and gardeners have also been preparing their garden for the many visitors.
The event will run from noon on Saturday, May 3, until Monday evening.
Joan Green, flower arranger co-ordinator, said: "The flower arrangements in the parish church will be a delight to see, taking on the theme of music makers.
"These arrangements can also be seen at the special Flower Festival Songs of Praise service on Sunday evening."
