Sylvia, our president, welcomed a near full house to our third birthday meeting in April, which we celebrated with chocolate and carrot cakes.
Our speaker was Karen Howard, who is an expert in reflexology.
She told us that the feet and hands are connected with all parts of the body and that with massage and a little manipulation symptoms can be found.
Karen uses the feet to find symptoms and said that anxiety and stress contribute to pain through tensed up muscles. She said that relaxation is a large part of reflexology treatment.
June Barber volunteered for some treatment which she found very soothing, although some tender spots were found.
After questions we thanked Karen for her talk before enjoying some refreshments.
We discussed various visits to other WIs, the group meeting and our outing to Hampton Court gardens in Herefordshire.
We drew the raffle and collected monies for various events. The meeting ended at noon.
Our next meeting is on May 14 when we will have Hats with a story' and a trading stall following the presentation of the WI resolutions for 2008.
Visitors are welcome.
