POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured when a car reversed into the phone box she was standing in.
The incident happened at 11.25am on Friday, February 1, at a telephone box in a car park on the High Street in Evesham.
The woman and her female friend where in the phone box near the pedestrian crossing when a man in a green Rover car reversed into it. She suffered bruising to her arm after it was trapped during the accident.
The man, who was travelling with a female passenger, then drove out of the car park. It is not known which direction he travelled in.
PC Sarah Nicholson, investigating, said: "The person failed to stop at the scene of an accident, despite the fact these women were obviously distressed.
"The driver was seen putting a red mobility scooter into the boot of his car just before the incident and although this was a while ago, we hope the information may help people to think back."
The male driver is described as white, around 60-years-old and wearing silver, large rimmed glasses. He was bald at the front of his head, with hair at the sides and back.
The female passenger was white, slim and around 60-years-old. She had grey hair under a green hat.
The phone box was not damaged in the incident.
