THE wife of a Stourport man found dead in the River Severn appeared in court today charged with his murder.
Muriel Southall, 59, and another Stourport man, 58-year-old Michael Whitcombe, appeared together before Kidderminster Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murder of 62-year-old lorry driver Reginald Southall.
The pair were also both charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice by making false statements to police and witholding information, following the disappearance of Mr Southall in December last year.
They did not enter a plea at court.
Mr Southall, who lived with his wife at the Stourport Caravan Park on Redstone Lane, is believed to have died on December 4.
His body was found in the river at Stourport by fishermen 12 days later.
Whitcombe, of the Four Acres Caravan Park on Worcester Road, and Mrs Southall were remanded in custody yesterday and will appear before Worcester Crown Court on Thursday.
