CHILDREN who were evacuated from a Worcester nursery when a major fire broke out nearby, have thanked the company which provided them with a place to go.
Leapfrog Day Nursery was one of a number of businesses evacuated when B Smith Packaging in Warndon went up in flames earlier this month. More than 80 youngsters and staff were taken in by Worcester Bosch, who fed them and provided entertainment until parents were able to collect their children.
Two weeks on and the nursery invited managers from Worcester Bosch to visit them and receive a picture painted by children, a bottle of champagne and box of chocolates, as a thank you.
"Worcester Bosch were fantastic that day," said Leapfrog manager Shelley O'Keeffe. "They took us in, because our evacuation point, at the Barn Owl, was also evacuated.
"They fed the children and provided a plasma screen for the children to watch. We just wanted to say a big thank you to the company. We are so grateful for what they did."
Mrs O'Keeffe said Worcester Bosch was now the nursery's second evacuation point in case of future incidents.
