A PRICELESS collection of memorabilia has been saved from the skip.
There were fears that the extensive Kays Heritage Group archive, consisting of over 100 years of history from Worcester's now obsolete Kays catalogue company, would be thrown away after the company that stored it decided it could no longer help.
Fortunately, another Worcester business has stepped in to fill the breach and the artefacts - ranging from catalogues and photographs, to newspaper cuttings and pieces of furniture - will soon be moving home.
Kirk Akdemir, managing director of international translation service company AA Global Language Services Ltd, has offered to store the collection at his company offices in Blockhouse Close, Worcester city centre.
"Preserving our history is very important to me and I knew that I could help the Kays Heritage Group, so I offered my support to them," said Mr Akdemir.
Bernard Mills, chairman of the Kays Heritage Group, said: "I'm very pleased that the collection is now able to be stored securely until a more permanent home can be found. The group is very grateful to Mr Akdemir for his support".
