Following your Worcester News' investigation into cocaine use in the city we have had a big response from people wanting to tell their story. Today we feature a father who says his life is being torn apart by his son's drug addiction A DESPERATE father has spoken about his hell living with his drug addict son and the frustration over police seemingly doing nothing about the dealers.

The Worcester man who wishes to remain anonymous said his 30-year-old son is tearing the family apart, he steals from his parents and siblings and refuses to tackle his cocaine and heroin addiction.

The man has reported the dealers to the police, but his son his still getting drugs from them on a daily basis.

After inquiries by your Worcester News the police have vowed to investigate.

"I want to kick him out because it is causing so much friction between the wife and me," the father said.

"I said I would leave her after 32 years of marriage, she has said to me he has an illness and he needs to do what he is doing.

"He does drugs every night, I can hear the crack going, it is like a sparkler and the smell is atrocious. He is living like a tramp, his bedroom stinks to high heaven."

His son started taking drugs when he was 16 years old, starting with cannabis he then moved to crack cocaine and heroin. His father does not know why he started taking the illegal substances.

"He had exactly the same as all his brothers and sisters, yet he has stolen off every one of them," he said. The addict can spend up to £150 a day on drugs and to fund this he steals and does odd jobs in the area. He even sells his methadone prescription to fund his habit.

The 60-year-old father believes the police could do more to tackle dealers. He has given them names and addresses of the dealers his son uses, but has seen no action.

"The police cannot be in two places at once, I know that, but nothing seems to be done about it," he said. "I know it takes a while to do a bust but I have known about these dealers for two years."

Your Worcester News passed on the information we were given about drug dealers and their addresses to West Mercia Police.

Detective Superintendent said: "South Worcestershire police has a department dedicated to investigating drug related crime.

"This department is fully engaged on a daily basis in relation to intelligence regarding the use and supply of controlled drugs.

"We would like to thank the man for the information and it will be fully investigated."
