AN elderly woman has died after being crushed by a car - reportedly being driven by her husband.
Emergency services were called to Hazelton Close, Marlbrook, Bromsgrove, just after 9.30am today, following reports that a man had hit the woman while reversing a Mercedes Benz car up a drive way.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews used specialist equipment to free the woman who was trapped and unconscious, but her injuries were fatal.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival at the scene, crews found a woman who had suffered serious multiple crush injuries from being in collision with a car. "Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance crews and then hospital staff, the woman was confirmed dead shortly after arrival at hospital."
A spokesman for the fire service said the driver of the vehicle, an elderly man, was "absolutely distraught".
